Propelo — Privacy Policy
Propelo helps you start a task you're avoiding by suggesting one tiny first step at a time. This policy explains what the app collects, why, and who it's shared with. Propelo has no accounts and does not ask for your name, email, phone number, or Apple ID.
What we collect
- The task you type. The text you enter (what you're avoiding) is sent to our server to generate your step.
- A random device identifier. The first time you open the app it generates a random ID, stored in your device's Keychain, and sends it with each request. It is not your name, email, Apple ID, or advertising identifier, and it is not linked to your real-world identity.
- How you use a task. Which step you're shown, when you tap "Make it smaller," whether you finish or leave, a coarse category for the task (e.g. admin, physical, creative), and timestamps.
- IP address. Our server sees your IP address to apply rate limits and prevent abuse. It is not stored alongside your task history for analytics.
How we use it
- To generate the single small step the app shows you.
- To quietly calibrate the size and framing of your future steps to what tends to get you moving. This is the only thing the "learns you" behavior does.
We do not use your data for advertising, we do not track you across other apps or websites, we do not sell your data, and we do not build a profile tied to your identity.
Who it's shared with
- Anthropic — the text of your task is sent to Anthropic's API to generate your step. Anthropic processes it to return a response under their terms; see the Anthropic Privacy Policy.
- DigitalOcean — our server, where your task history is stored, is hosted on DigitalOcean infrastructure.
We don't share your data with anyone else.
Where your data lives and how long
Your task text and usage data are stored on our server so future steps can be calibrated for your device. Data is kept in transit over encrypted HTTPS. Because the data is tied only to a random device identifier, deleting and reinstalling the app generates a new identifier and disassociates you from any earlier history.
Your choices
- Reinstalling the app resets your device identifier.
- You can email us to request deletion of the data associated with your device.
Children
Propelo is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.
Security
All communication with our server uses encrypted HTTPS. The AI provider key is held only on the server and is never included in the app.
Changes
We may update this policy; the effective date above reflects the latest version.
